Banque Bonhôte hires discretionary management chief

Neuchâtel private bank Banque Bonhôte & Cie has named former Royal Bank of Canada CIO René Morgenthaler as head of discretionary management for private and institutional clients.

Morgenthaler joined the group on 1 December 2017.

He previously served as CIO at RBC in Geneva – which was acquired by Banque Syz in August 2015 –  from 2008 to 2016.

Prior to that, Morgenthaler was head of trading and advisory at Hyposwiss Private Bank in Geneva and head of stock exchange at Merrill Lynch Bank Switzerland.

In December, the Neuchâtel-headquartered group hired senior wealth manager Pascal Geissmann from CA Indosuez Switzerland.

Geissmann joined the Geneva branch, where he was charged with serving and developing the local private clientele.

Banque Bonhôte was created in 1815 and has branches in Bienne, Geneva, Bern and Lausanne.
