Banque Cantonale Vaudoise’s chairman, Olivier Steimer, is joining Lombard Odier’s board of directors, the group has announced.

Steimer will join the Geneva-based private bank’s board as an independent member from 1 January 2018 and will no longer serve as chairman of the BCV's board of directors from 31 December 2017, a departure that was first announced in February 2017.

At present, Steimer is vice president of the Bank Council of the Swiss National Bank and is also a member of the board of directors of Chubb Limited and Allreal Holding.

Over the course of his career, which spans more than 30 years, Steimer has held key managerial roles at a number of leading financial institutions. He has previously served as a member of the executive board at Credit Suisse Group, where he was CEO of the international private banking division.

At Lombard Odier, Steimer will sit alongside chairman Patrick Odier, vice chair Anne-Marie de Weck and board members Henry Peter and Enrico Vanni.
