BlackRock has unveiled Oisin Crawley as the head of research in its Asian fundamental equity team.

Hong Kong-based Crawley will report to Andrew Swan (pictured), who is head of Asian fundamental equity.

Prior to BlackRock, Crawley was a portfolio manager at TT International for eight years.

Commenting on the appointment, Swan said: ‘The new role builds on the developments in our investment process and we look forward to Oisin adding his investment insights and skills to our Asian equity franchise.’

Citywire AA-rated Swan runs a number of Asian strategies at the US investment giant, including the BGF Asian Growth Leaders A2 USD fund, which he co-manages with Emily Dong.

Subject to regulatory approval, Crawley is expected to take on portfolio management responsibilities in the later part of 2014.

He spent six years as an equity research analyst at Morgan Stanley before joining TT International.

At the end of September 2013, BlackRock’s manages around US$4.1 trillion of assets.
