Credit Suisse launches digital health fund

Credit Suisse Asset Management has launched a new thematic fund, the firm has announced.

The Credit Suisse (Lux) Global Digital Health Equity Fund will tap digital health as a theme.

The lead fund managers of the strategy are Thomas Amrein and Christian Schmid. Both have long track records as portfolio managers at Credit Suisse.

The fund invests in companies that aim to improve the quality of medical services and curb rising healthcare costs.

The strategy will focus on three themes: research and development, innovative treatments and efficiency improvements.

The aim is to find pure-play small and mid-sized companies that bring innovative products to the market and receive at least 50% of their revenues from digital health.

The subscription period will come to end on 13 December 2017.

The new strategy will expand the thematic range of the firm, which currently includes robotics- and security-focused funds.
