Credit Suisse to close two thematic funds

Credit Suisse to close two thematic funds

Credit Suisse will remove two thematic funds from its product range, the firm has announced.

The Credit Suisse (Lux) Global Energy Winners Equity Fund was managed by Thomas Amrein, who is now in charge of the newly introduced CS (Lux) Global Digital Health Equity Fund together with Christian Schmid.

According to the September factsheet the Energy Winners fund had $59 million in assets under management.

Its aim was to invest in energy production, transportation, transmission, distribution, and conservation, as well as suppliers of goods and services to the sector.

The strategy is set to be liquidated in December and will roll all of its assets into Credit Suisse (Lux) Infrastructure fund that is managed by Citywire + rated Werner Richli and Anna Väänänen.

Another thematic fund that will be liquidated shortly is Global Biotech Innovators Equity Fund. The strategy was also managed by Amrein and all of its assets will be transferred to the new digital healthcare fund.

The biotech fund had $166 million under management in the end of September, and invests in biotechnology, life sciences tools and services, pharmaceuticals, health care equipment, and healthcare technology.
