Ex-UBS and Credit Suisse veteran joins Fribourg adviser

Ex-UBS and Credit Suisse regional head for Fribourg, Louis-Philippe Cardis, has joined independent asset management firm Swinvest.

Cardis has joined the board of directors at the Fribourg-based boutique, which was launched in 2008. He will work alongside Swinvest founders, François Grangier, Ian Peiry and associate director Magali Vial.

He continues to run his own corporate consulting firm Sidrac LP Cardis, which he founded in 2012.

Prior to that, Cardis spent around 27 years at Credit Suisse after a short stint training at UBS. During his time at Credit Suisse, he held various management roles including head of the private banking sector and head of the Fribourg region for private clients.

In 2006, he re-joined UBS as head of the Fribourg region for wealth management.

The hire comes a couple months after Swinvest formed a strategic alliance with Fontaris and DE Planification.

The Bern, Fribourg, Neuchâtel alliance is a response to upcoming regulations, and allows the three boutiques to navigate the new legal and compliance demands facing the asset management community.
