Newton Investment Management has hired UBS’s head of investment solutions to serve as chief investment officer, amid wider changes to the company’s overall senior structure.
The move will see Curt Custard join on 14 August to serve in the newly-created post.
He left UBS in June 2016 after nine years with bank. He has also previously served as head of multi-asset investment at Schroders.
The appointment comes against the backdrop of a new senior management arrangement for the BNY Mellon-owned group, which will see a new senior management team put in place.
The move sees Julian Lynne named chief commercial officer, while Andrew Downs and James Helby remain chief operating officer and chief risk officer respectively.
They will sit alongside Hanneke Smits, who is chief executive officer, to form a new management team. The rearrangement is designed to reinforce governance and aid Newton’s further global growth.
