Comgest has appointed Arnaud Cosserat as the group's chief investment officer, the Paris-based asset manager has announced.

Citywire + rated Cosserat will replace Vincent Strauss, who remains chief executive officer of the firm and is Citywire + rated as well.

On his part, Cosserat will continue in his role as portfolio manager of seven Comgest funds, both within the European and global equity teams.

Commenting on the appointment, Strauss said: ‘Arnaud’s appointment as CIO comes as a natural evolution to his previous role.'

'His strong leadership and oversight of the investment process at Comgest is invaluable, ensuring that our team continues to refine and strengthen its research methods in order to continue delivering long term performance to our investors.’

Cosserat has over 27 years' industry experience and joined Comgest in 1996 as a portfolio manager covering European equities.

He spent the past two years in the position of deputy CIO, overseeing the implementation of Comgest's quality growth style across all portfolios managed by the 38-strong investment team.

Last week, Comgest added 17-year market veteran Emil Wolter to the Asia ex Japan equity fund overseen by the two Citywire A-rated managers David Raper and Chakara Sisowath.
