Lobnek Wealth Management has joined Americans Welcome, a platform that connects US clients with SEC-licensed wealth managers working in Switzerland.
Lobnek has been SEC licensed for about a year and a half. According to CEO Marc Moret, there is great value in having access to American clients. 'Personally, I'm very pro-America. I think there is an amazing opportunity to do business in the US,' he said.
The firm already has a presence in Mexico, which Moret said contributed to its decision to become SEC licensed.
'We are active in Mexico, and a number of our clients are borderline US persons. They have family on the other side of the border, or study abroad, and are very close to US person status.'
And while some investors have had mixed feelings about SEC compliance standards, Moret remains confident.
'Since the beginning of the company, we've decided not to handle any undeclared assets. We receive no retrocessions, no financial kickbacks, and operate with full transparency.
'We don't share the concerns and fears that our competitors do surrounding the US. We're very US friendly.'
Moret said he's received several phone calls since listing on the platform from those interested in Lobnek's SEC registration.
'Over the last few weeks a number of calls have come in from people who want to know if we're really SEC registered.
'I'm not sure if it's directly related to our presence on the Americans Welcome webpage, but it very well might be, and I think it is.'
