Goldman Sachs Bank has appointed Patricia Horgan as a second independent member of its board of directors. 

In this role, Horgan will be working side by side with the board of directors and senior management to push Goldman Sachs' business growth in Switzerland.

Christopher French, chairman of Goldman Sachs Bank and head of private wealth management for EMEA, said: 'We are delighted to have appointed Patricia Horgan as a new, independent member of our board of directors. 

'She is a highly experienced financial expert with excellent industry and capital market knowledge and will critically and dynamically support our regional growth course.'

His sentiments were echoed by Marco Pagliara, general manager of Goldman Sachs Bank, who said: 'The addition of Patricia Horgan to the board of directors is a strong signal of our clear commitment to our wealth management platform in Switzerland.

'We look forward to working together to continue to accelerate the business development of our bank in Switzerland.'

Horgan previously worked as a managing director at Credit Suisse. Prior to that role, she held leadership positions at UBS and Deutsche Bank.
