Geneva boutique asset manager QUAERO Capital has announced that Serge Ledermann is joining its board of directors.
Ledermann will work alongside QUAERO Capital chairman Cristofer Gelli and directors Edgar Brandt, Melchior de Muralt and Angus Macdonald.
Ledermann has more than 35 years’ experience in the industry and previously held the position of head of asset management at J. Safra Sarasin for a year and a half before leaving his post.
Before that, Ledermann served as head of asset management at Lombard Odier until 2008 and partner at Union Bancaire Privée Gestion Institutionnelle.
In November 2016, he joined the board of Schroders Investment Management (Switzerland).
He also featured as a cover star for Citywire Switzerland's sister publication Modern Investor during his time with Retraites Populaires in Lausanne from 2012 to 2015.
Commenting on the hire, QUAERO Capital chairman Cristofer Gelli said: ‘Serge Ledermann’s breadth of experience and extended international contact network in the financial world will be very useful assets to pursue our expansion and successfully face the challenges facing the Swiss asset management sector.’
On his new role, Ledermann said: ‘I am excited to join QUAERO Capital’s board. Indeed, besides plain vanilla products produced by the asset management giants, there is a strong need for a specialist boutique such as QUAERO, whose very distinctive strategies and conviction-driven investment style have delivered superior results.’
