Invesco euro equity duo top amLeague’s overall rankings

Invesco Asset Management’s Jeffrey Taylor and Matthew Perowne have topped amLeague’s September rankings after posting the strongest performance across all three of the competition’s mandates.

The duo garnered the highest returns for their euro equity portfolio which posted 2.36%. In second place in the league’s euro equity mandate was CM-CIC’s Christophe Besson who returned 1.68% while Edmond de Rothchild’s Olivier Huet and Philippe Lecoq came in third with 1.34% over the month of September.

Of the 17 managers taking part in the euro equity mandate, five outperformed the Eurostoxx NR index which rose 0.81% in September.

Launched in June 2010, the goal of the league was to offer a way for institutional investors to compare fund managers' skill at running identical mandates.

Each manager must run a paper portfolio with an identical set of guidelines: a market exposure of 98-100%, a minimum of 20 stocks, and a maximum exposure to any single sector of 35%.

The next best returning team in the overall rankings came from the global equity mandate with the Ossiam Global Minimum Variance team returned 2.07% during the month of September.

Looking at the global equity mandate, second place went to Roche Brune AM’s Bruno Fine and Grégoire Laverne who were not far behind their first place rivals with 1.99%. In third place came the Swiss Life Asset Managers duo of Pierre Guillemin and Didier Corbet who posted returns of 1.94%.

Of the 11 managers taking part in the global equity mandate, only three managed to outperform the Stoxx 1800 NR index which rose 1.43% in September.

Turning to the European equity mandate we find Christophe Besson of CM-CIC in first place after posting returns of 1.83% during the month of September.

In second place is the THEAM-team led portfolio of BNP Paribas IP which returned 1.34% while third place went ING IM duo, Rob Radelaar and Jan Luschen, with 1.10%.

Of the 20 managers taking part in the European equity mandate, 8 outperformed the Stoxx 600 NR index which rose 0.41% over the course of September.
