Lombard Odier names UK head of independent asset managers

Lombard Odier has hired Michael Le Garignon to head up its Independent Asset Managers division in the UK.

Garignon joins the bank from Société Générale Securities Services where he was head of business development, sales & relationship management in the UK and Ireland.

Previously, he also held roles at JP Morgan and BNP Paribas Securities Services.

He will be responsible for launching and developing Lombard Odier's which will be rolled out in 2017.

The division was established in Switzerland and provides a portfolio management platform for multi-family offices and wealth managers.

The hire comes one month after the Geneva bank bolstered its London office with six hires, including the appointment of new chief operating officer, three private bankers, a legal counsel and a wealth planner.

Duncan MacIntyre (pictured), chief executive officer UK, said: 'Technology is a hugely important factor in order for family offices and wealth managers to flourish. They need robust systems with the highest standards of quality to meet the demands of their clients and develop businesses to their full potential, benefitting from the full suite of services Lombard Odier has to offer.

'This need will only get greater as regulatory pressure increases. We’re delighted to welcome Michael to Lombard Odier, whose wealth of expertise will be valuable for driving forward the IAM business in the UK, which is an important part of our growth strategy.'
