Ticino-based Hedge Invest has launched a fund powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, the independent asset manager told Citywire Switzerland.
The HI QuantWave fund, a quantitative strategy with daily liquidity, simulates the job of several traders, with a specific asset style and asset class focus to allocate capital. To do so it uses a technological platform that takes advantage of the power of cloud-based calculation.
It bases its decisions on traditional data and non-structured information such as textual data from Twitter or satellite images.
The information is then converted into sentiment indicators to capture market nuances.
Alessandra Manuli, CEO of Hedge Invest SGR, said: ‘Financial markets change constantly, and so does the world where our investment strategies act: trends such as big data and artificial intelligence are a reality.’
Numen Capital manages the fund under a mandate and the fund managers are Marco Jean Aboav and Alessandro Barison. Aboav is currently professor in financial technology at Cass Business School in London.
