On film: LOIM's Salman Ahmed on globalisation 2.0 and key risks for EMs

In this Citywire Switzerland video, Salman Ahmed, chief investment strategist at Lombard Odier Investment Managers, explains why he is still bullish on emerging markets despite concerns over increasing protectionism.

Valuations are not as cheap as last year when Lombard Odier IM first went bullish on emerging markets. However, there is a lot of opportunity, Ahmed says, as the developing world has continued to recover most of the post-Trump election losses and to scale the ‘wall of worry’.

Here, Ahmed says 'globalisation 2.0', meaning the emergence of regional domestic demand as a driver of multi-market growth rather than traditional emerging markets exporting to developed markets, could be significantly affected by worsening US/China trade relations.
