Threat of ‘full-blown’ European crisis looms large, warns economist

The ECB’s stimulus measures are papering over the cracks in the eurozone but not doing enough to dispel the fear of a ‘full-blown crisis’ rearing its head over the next two years.

That is according to Joachim Voth, chair of economic development at the University of Zurich and keynote speaker at Citywire Montreux 2015.

In his opening address, Voth said political support for measures, most notably in Germany, are on an increasingly fragile footing which could lead to an economic collapse in the next 12-to-24 months.
