Fund size: CHF 2.08 billion

James Valone is a Citywire + rated manager, and has achieved returns of 11.7% over the past three years.

He manages the Wellington Opportunistic Emerging Markets Debt fund, which has hovered above sector average since mid-2016.

Michael Gomez is a Citywire + rated manager, who has landed returns of 12.2% over the past three years. 

He manages Pimco's emerging markets bond fund alongside Francesc Balcells and Yacov Arnopolin, which has managed to stay above the sector average since late 2016.

Fund size: CHF 1.85 billion

Rob Drijkoningen and Gorky Urquieta have come in third place, achieving returns of 14.8% over the past three years. 

Together they manage an emerging market debt blend fund that has landed returns of 14.1% over three years as of March 2018.

2nd: Morten Bugge and Christian Mejrup

Fund: Global Evolution Funds - Frontier Markets R CHF

Fund size: CHF 2.7 billion

Global Evolution Funds' Morten Bugge and Christian Mejrup share second place, with 15.3% in returns over three years.

The duo manages a frontier markets fund, which has achieved returns above the benchmark since mid-2017. It has also managed to pull ahead of the sector average by more than 5 percentage points as of March 2018. 

Bugge is Citywire A-rated, while Mejrup is Citywire AA-rated.
