UBS has appointed Hanspeter Thür as head of Eastern Switzerland, the firm has announced.
In the meantime, Gian-Reto Staub will assume the role of the wealth management head in the region.
Together the pair are taking on functions of Anton Simonet, who started as head of Swiss wealth management in April 2017.
Thür has been working at UBS for 30 years and has been in charge of private clients business in Eastern Switzerland for the past two years.
At different points in time he performed various management functions in operations, logistics and wealth management.
Meanwhile, Straub has been working at UBS' wealth management division for 19 years. Over the past two years he has been looking after the Graubünden region, and prior to that was in charge of clients in St. Moritz.
Straub is also currently a president of the ice hockey team EHC St. Moritz.
His successor in the wealth management division of the Graubünden region will be Giovanni Tordi.
Over the last five years he has built up the wealth management division in St.Moritz, where he looked after high net worth clients.
