UBS makes host of new senior UHNW appointments

UBS has made several changes to its ultra-high net worth unit with the expansion of roles for several senior staff and newly created positions to expand overall coverage.

At the forefront of the changes, Agis Leopoulos assumes the new role of vice chairman for EMEA, which he will assume on 1 March. He will work closely with, and repot to, the head of UNHW for EMEA and LatAm, Caroline Kuhnert.

Meanwhile, Ronald Wehrli will join the company from JP Morgan on 1 June to assume the newly created role overseeing the UNHW Middle East, Israel, Africa & Turkey business.

UBS said Wehrli’s 18 years of investment experience, particularly in wealth management, served him well to further develop the company’s work in these emerging markets.

Wehrli will relocate from New York to Geneva when he joins and report into Ali Janoudi, head of wealth management for CEEMEA, France and Benelux.

Philippe Bigger, who is head of GFO Emerging Markets & UHWN CEE, will take on responsibility for central Europe and also manage the Middle East, Israel, Africa & Turkey business on an interim basis until Wehrli formally joins.

Elsewhere, Mattias Lehmann, who is head of GFO Europe, UHNW France International & Monaco Domestic will take responsibility for the UNHW Greece business from 1 March.
