UBS has appointed Claudia Gasser as head of wealth management in central Switzerland, the firm has announced.
She took on her new responsibilities on 1 January 2018, and succeeds Fabian Stirnemann, who has been in charge of wealth management in Zurich region since September 2017.
Gasser has 20 years of experience with UBS, holding a number of senior roles. She was previously responsible for wealth management in the UK and the Netherlands.
Commenting on the appointment, Anton Simonet, head of wealth management in Switzerland at UBS, said Gasser has been living in central Switzerland for 10 years and is an ideal choice for the role.
This is just one of several recent changes in the Swiss wealth management department at the private bank.
In June 2017, Gian-Reto Staub became head of wealth management in Eastern Switzerland, taking over some responsibilities from Simonet.
UBS Wealth Management president Jürg Zeltner stepped down from his role in December 2017 and Martin Blessing, president of UBS Switzerland, is set to take on his responsibilities.
