Vontobel looks to hire PM in EM debt expansion

Vontobel is hiring a deputy portfolio manager in a push to expand its emerging markets fixed income team, Citywire Switzerland has learned.

A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the growth plans, saying the bank hopes to 'add capabilities to strengthen the team'. The position will be based in Zurich.

The asset manager currently offers an emerging markets debt fund, an emerging markets corporate bond fund, and an emerging markets local currency bond fund.

The sector is led by Citywire AAA-rated Luc D'hooge, head of emerging markets bonds. D'hooge oversees the Emerging Markets Debt fund.

The firm expanded its emerging markets team earlier this year, as Citywire AAA-rated manager Thierry Larose joined the team following his departure from Degroof Petercam.

He now oversees the Emerging Markets Local Currency Bond fund.
