Zug-based independent asset manager Zugerberg Finanz has hired a new portfolio manager, Citywire Switzerland can reveal.
Ramiz Ibrahimovic will be responsible for execution of trades, as well as research and analysis.
The final allocation decisions of the firm are always made by the investment committee and then executed by four portfolio managers.
The investment committee of the Zug-based adviser consists of Prof. Dr. Maurice Pedergnana, Dr. Fabian Steiner, Dr. Danilo Zanetti and Timo Dainese.
Ibrahimovic is a 30-year old Swiss national who has a master’s degree in banking and finance from ZHAW Winterthur.
The firm said it received 100 application but only a handful of candidates met the criteria.
Founder and the partner of the firm, Dainese, said the firm was looking for a person with a vision and Ibrahimovic had necessary analytical skills, entrepreneurial spirit as well as a network in the financial industry.
‘We not only looked at education and degrees, but also how the person would fit our "Zugerberg spirit". We are not a huge bank or an international asset manager but a Swiss boutique, which focuses on Swiss residents and Swiss institutions as clients,’ Dainese said.
The firm runs both portfolios for clients and also runs the PPF – Credit Opportunities Fund, which targets bonds on the borderline of investment and sub-investment grade.
Earlier this year the firm also joined the Alliance of Swiss Wealth Managers as its 21st member.
