Zurich adviser expands to Italy with ex-UBS private bankers

Zurich-based adviser ZWEI Wealth Experts has expanded to Italy with new hires, the firm has announced.

The head of ZWEI Wealth Experts (Italia) in Milan is Peter Conrad, who has twenty years' experience in the industry. He comes to the firm from Essentia Family Office.

He previously served as CEO of UBS Monaco and as the private bank's head of ultra-high-net-worth individuals in Japan.

The second addition to the Milan office is Mauro Costa, who also joins the board of the firm.

He brings 35 years of experience in wealth management and private banking. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a senior consultant at Banca Generali in Milan.

He was previously vice chairman of UBS Wealth Management in Monaco and head of UBS Italy. He also ran a family office in Lugano for seven years.

Commenting on the new hires, chairman of the board Klaus Wellershoff said:

‘We are happy that with CEO Peter Conrad and Mauro Costa as members of the advisory board, we have secured two distinguished professionals for our build-up of activities in Italy.’

This is not the first time the firm has expanded into a new country. In September the firm set up a branch in Israel with three ex-UBS bankers.

The firm also secured Hans Münch from Willis Towers Watson and the former UBS managing director Paul Stäheli as partners earlier this year.
