Zurich-based adviser Entrepreneuer Partners is set to launch a new Swiss equity fund on 30 June 2017, the firm has announced.
The new strategy, EnPa Swiss Top Picks fund, will be managed by Reto Brühwiler and Rudolf König.
Brühwiler will join the firm from MainFirst (Switzerland) where he is currently head of sales. He also has many years of experience as a Swiss equity broker.
The new portfolio manager used to work with König, who is lead manager of another Swiss equity fund at the firm, Tavau Swiss fund, which stopped issuing new fund units in April.
The new fund invests across all caps with a tilt towards small- and mid-cap companies and will focus on 10-15 titles. It will be a long-only strategy that will use futures and put options to hedge the positions.
Speaking to Citywire Switzerland Daniel Müller, head of asset management at Entrepreneur Partners, said the firm had been discussing the launch of the fund with clients for a long time.
‘In Switzerland there is an increased risk in the market as it is getting really crowded with many long-only small- and mid-cap funds becoming really large. We want to create a focused portfolio with the top companies that can evolve over the coming years no matter what happens on the markets.’
Tavau Swiss Fund returned 32.48% in Swiss franc terms over the past three years to the end of May 2017. Its technical indicator, the Swiss Performance Index TR, returned 19.76% over the same timeframe.
