Zurich-based asset management company Swiss Rock has launched a new equity fund, Citywire Switzerland can reveal.
The Swiss Rock Aktien Global Defensiv fund will invest in both global and Swiss equities, and will be available for retail and institutional clients.
Unlike its peer strategy, the Swiss Rock Aktien Welt, the new fund has tail risk protection based on the put option strategy.
Martin Schlatter, head of equities at the firm, will manage the new fund. He has 15 years' experience of managing equity funds.
Schlatter has previously developed long/short equity and derivative strategies at Bank Leu and was later in charge of regional equity management at Clariden Leu.
A spokesperson for Swiss Rock said that the fund has been launched after the firm received seed money from an institutional investor.
