Zurich WM goes independent after share buyback

Zurich-based wealth manager Von Graffenried, Von Burg, Kaufmann, Winzeler Vermögensverwaltungs has became independent after a management buyout.

The firm's founding partners Thomas Kaufmann and Urs von Burg have bought back shares from the private bank Von Graffenried after 22 years of close partnership.

As a result of the buyout, the firm is also changing its name to PENSADOR Partner. The new name alludes to Auguste Rodin's sculpture The Thinker, with CEO Thomas Kaufmann and CIO Urs von Burg highlighting the importance of the firm's new independent status and its sustainable co-operation with clients.

The status of the company as a wealth manager and the office in Zurich at Limmatquai 94 will both remain unchanged.

The share buyback will not only grant the company independence, but will also help it widen and rejuvenate its staff.

The board of directors currently includes Robert Wyss, Urs von Burg, Andreas Feuz, Heinz Winzeler and Erich Fischer. Von Burg is also a partner of the firm, along with Thomas Kaufmann, Thomas Moravek and Christian Diener.

The wealth manager offers discretionary and advisory mandates, as well as financial planning and pension scheme services.

The firm runs the Limmat Global Equity Fund and a Flagship Partner Account (FPA). As of the end of July, the FPA was made up of 57.64% equities, 23.22% bonds and 19.14% cash.
