Berenberg Asset Management is expanding to Geneva as it has announced with the hire of ex-Edmond de Rothschild managers.
Mathieu Gilbert and Franck Sabbah joined the German company on September 1st and are based in Geneva to boost expansion into Switzerland, France and Benelux countries.
In their new capacity, they will work with the overlay & liquid alternatives team in Hamburg and the US affiliate Berenberg Asset Management LLC in Chicago.
Gibert will act as head of asset management Switzerland at Berenberg and report directly to the global head of asset management, Tindaro Siragusano.
Prior to his new role, Gilbert was founder of the Overlay at Edmond de Rosthschild Group and spent more than 16 years working for the asset manager and was group CIO for quantitative management & overlays.
Sabbah spent 14 years working at Edmond de Rothschild Group, most recently as head of overlay management.
