Zug-based cryptocurrency bank Seba Crypto has revealed its board of directors, boasting names from EFG Bank, Julius Baer and Finma.
The board includes Andreas Amschwand, who announced his departure from the Julius Baer board to become Seba's chairman in September, along with EFG Bank chief risk officer and senior advisor Reto Kunz, and 30-year Finma veteran Urs Zulauf, who departed from his role as deputy CEO in 2013.
It also welcomes Guy Schwarzenbach, CEO and CIO of Zug boutique Black River Asset Management, and Seba co-founder Sébastien Mérillat.
The bank will continue to be led by CEO Guido Bühler.
Amschwand said in a statement: 'Seba is committed to the development of the sustainable, stable and regulated growth of crypto as an asset class...Together we intend to build the bridge between the traditional financial markets and the new digital economy.'
Seba is currently working on obtaining a Finma licence. It has privately raised CHF 100 million in capital and recently announced a partnership with Loomis focusing on cold storage.
