Independent digital wealth manager Descartes Finance is launching a think tank, under the name Descartes Vorsorge Denkfabrik, the firm announced on Friday.
The firm wants to use the think tank to increase awareness of the pillar 3a retirement scheme and securities saving in Switzerland. The think tank’s four members will exchange ideas with the board of directors and management of Descartes Finance to do so.
The think tank’s chairman is Michael Stemmle, founder and CEO of technology firm additiv, which focuses on providing more efficient financial services for customers through digitalisation.
Isabella Brom, co-founder of Kore Technologies, is the second member. Kore Technologies is a blockchain focused software and infrastructure company. She is also chief information officer of the executive board of Crowdlitoken.
Thirdly, Iwan Brot is an independent financial advisor who helps private individuals structure complex assets implements pension solutions. He also lectures at a number of universities.
Gerhard Fehr, founder of FehrAdvice & Partner, also features on the think tank. His company is a consulting firm in the field of behavioural economics.
Zurich based Descartes launched a digital pillar 3a solution called Descartes Vorsorge in November 2019. It also launched a partnership with Invesco in the same month. Its founder and CEO Adriano Lucatelli (pictured) said:
‘We have deliberately not founded an advisory board, because such boards are often more about appearances than having a practical impact. It is important to us that we are able to discuss socially relevant questions about old-age provision based on evidence and in a sustainable manner and to be able to come up with appropriate solutions. We are not afraid to come into contact with politics.’
