GAM has appointed new hire Adrian Gosden to the role of investment director. He will manage a new UK equity fund which is yet to be launched.
In his new role, Gosden will be based in London and will work with GAM’s UK and pan-European equity teams. The UK equity fund launch is planned for the end of the year.
In his last five years at Artemis, Gosden returned 50.12% in the UK Equity Income sector, compared with the average sector peer manager, who returned 51.14%.
Prior to his time with Artemis, Gosden worked at Société Générale Asset Management, managing accounts for institutional clients and co-managing the retail SocGen UK Income fund with Nicola Horlick.
Commenting on the new appointment, Alexander Friedman, group CEO said: ‘We are excited to welcome such a talented investor to the group and to further diversify our offering of specialised products to cater to clients’ needs. In today’s low growth environment, investors are increasingly interested in income-type products that offer yield and diversification benefits.’
In June, the company revealed that client assets within GAM's range of five model portfolios, launched in late 2012 and managed by Charles Hepworth and James McDaid, had climbed above £1 billion.
