Pictet Asset Management has appointed three new investment managers on its thematic equities team, the Swiss investment company has announced.
The three newly-hired managers, Citywire A-rated Peter Lingen, Citywire + rated Simon Gottelier, and portfolio manager Christian Roessing, will all be based in Geneva and will focus on the Robotics, Water, and Clear Energy strategies respectively, the company said.
Commenting on the hires, Richard Heelis, Pictet’s Equities CIO, said: ‘These senior hires reflect our strong commitment to thematic investing and will strengthen our existing teams.’
As reported by Citywire Selector in December 2015, Lingen stepped down from the Swedbank Robur Technology fund after 15 years on the strategy at the end of November 2015. In his new capacity, he will co-manage the recently-launched Pictet Robotics strategy alongside Karen Kharmandarian.
Meanwhile, Gottlier is relocating to Switzerland from New York where he worked for Impax Asset Management since 2004. During that time he managed the Impax Global Water strategy and the All-Cap Resource Optimisation 'Leaders' strategy. He is assigned to the Pictet-Water team.
The third hire, Christian Roessing, joined the thematic equities team at the end of 2015 from Vontobel Asset Management where his latest role was deputy portfolio manager on the Vontobel Fund - Clean Technology which is run by Pascal Dudle. He will work alongside Luciano Diana and Xavier Chollet on the Pictet-Clean Energy fund.
