RAM Active Investments has appointed Clément Perette as a senior fund manager as it expands its global fixed income team, Citywire Selector has learned.
Perrette (pictured) will co-manage the RAM (LUX) Tactical Funds – Global Bond Total Return fund alongside Gilles Pradère and Cédric Daras.
This marks the first senior hire for the team since Stéphane Decrauzat stepped down in November of last year. He subsequently joined rival group Bank Safra Sarasin to oversee its new fixed income unit.
Pradere was assigned to fund following Decrauzat's departure, while Daras has been on the fund since May 2011. In June 2015, the fund was revamped from a 'quality bond' fund to be focused on a total return approach.
Prior to this position, Perette worked in London at Barclays Capital for over 10 years, before stepping down in 2013. He held several positions at the group, including former head of Euro rates trading among other senior roles.
Perrette joined Barclays shortly after finishing a 10-year stint in Paris where he worked for SG, Paribas and Deutsche Bank in government bonds.
The RAM (Lux) TF – Global Bond Total Return fund returned 5.1% in euro terms over the three years to the end of March 2016. The average manager in the Absolute Return EUR sector returned 3.1% over the same timeframe.
