Vontobel poaches SocGen PB’s Swiss market chief as new WM head

Vontobel has appointed Stefano Retti as head of its wealth management business in Geneva. He will take on his new role from 1 February 2019.

He will be responsible for the Romandy area and will report to the deputy head of Vontobel Wealth Management, Christoph Gloor. Retti will also join the company’s management committee.

Retti previously worked at Société Générale Private Bank, where he served as head of the Swiss market. Prior to that, he worked as manager of the Geneva branch of Bank CIC Switzerland.

Commenting on the appointment, Gloor said: ‘We are pleased to welcome Stefano Retti as the new head of our wealth management business in Geneva. I am sure we can benefit from his experience and competencies. This appointment is part of our growth strategy and shall foster our expansion plans in French-speaking Switzerland.’

Vontobel previously boosted its presence in the Romandy region by acquiring Notenstein La Roche.
