Zugerberg Finanz joins growing CHF 51 billion WM alliance

Zug-based firm Zugerberg Finanz has become a member of the Alliance of Swiss Wealth Managers, the firm has announced.

The company became the 21st member of the organisation, which was founded in May 2016 as a networking platform for big wealth managers in Switzerland and started out with 14 wealth managers on board.

Dr Maurice Pedergnana, who is a partner at Zugerberg Finanz, said the firm wanted to become an active member of a strong, large and independent asset manager organisation, where participants deal with similar challenges on a daily basis.

‘Every member still has plenty of growth opportunities, therefore there is almost no overlap in our strategies. But we are interested in exchanging ideas and experience in areas such as risk and compliance, digital archiving, cloud IT operations, evaluation of custodian banks and portfolio management solutions.’

He added that membership will help to effectively address all of these challenges and therefore is beneficial for the firm's clients.

Combined, the members of the Alliance of Swiss Wealth Managers manage CHF51 billion of assets and have 634 employees. In order to join the organisation a wealth manager has to have CHF 1 billion of capital.

The main topics of discussion are infrastructure, regulatory issues, investment ideas, products, information technology and custodian banks.

The companies to have joined most recently are Lugano-based Colombo Gestioni Patrimoniali, Geneva-based Decalia Asset Management, Zurich-based Finad, Basel-based Infiba Vermögensverwaltung and Zug-based Kraemer Schwab & Co.

The chairman of the alliance is Felix Brem with Amaury Jordan serving as a vice-chairman. Meanwhile Markus Angst, Kristian Bader, Anthony Cagiati and Patrick Stauber are executive board members.

‘Our goal is to provide an effective platform to facilitate the regular exchange of know-how and best practice among the leading independent Swiss wealth managers dedicated to serving private clients. The addition of Zugerberg Finanz AG represents an additional important step in this direction,’ Jordan said.

The original founding members of the Alliance of Swiss Wealth Managers are Aquila & Co, Avalor Investment, Burgauer Huser Aman & Partner, Entrepreneur Partners, Forum Finance Group, Finaport, Helvetic Trust, Marcuard Heritage, OLZ & Partners, Reuss Private, Sound Capital, Swisspartners, Tareno and Weibel Hess & Partner.
